For three decades, Max Nagl has been an innovative and influential member of the Vienna music scene. His work as a saxophonist, bandleader, and composer combines an array of musical genres (including, but not limited to, unapologetic free jazz, trash pop, boogaloo, and Austrian folk music) into a unique, instantly recognizable style. He's an absolute original and a great guy to hang with, and it's been my very great pleasure to be a member of two of his bands these last few years:
